No twinkling lights at the Medieval Christmas Market in Chiusa/Klausen. Rather, the gentle glow of candles and torches draws subtle shadows on the historic facades of the city. The magical atmosphere of Christmas rekindles memories of childhood and warms hearts.
Candle on candle form a light path through the winding streets of the historical town of Klausen. In some cases, time seems to stand still. The flair of past epochs flows from all corners and the romantic old town offers the perfect backdrop for the Medieval Christmas Market. Night watchers stroll through the streets and tell stories, medieval music comes from the streets. A juggler flits through the crowds, and on the main plaza a fire shows his artifices. Medieval women, dressed in woollen clothes, are sitting at open fire place weaving cloth, while knights in coats of chain mail ride quietly through the streets.
