Hiking tip: Along the Chestnut Trail 🥾🌰

From Klausen, the path leads up to Säben Monastery 🏰, then continues along the Chestnut Trail to Feldthurns 🏞️. There, traditional Törggelen taverns invite you to enjoy autumn flavours, or you can treat yourself to a coffee at the Tonig Bar. The return to Klausen is easy by bus.

Tip: You can also do the hike the other way round, from Feldthurns to Säben and down into Klausen’s old town for a stroll.

Tour facts:
Length: approx. 8 km
Duration: 2.5–3 hrs walking time
Elevation gain: around 350 m up & down
Difficulty: easy (well-maintained trails, also suitable for leisurely hikers)
Equipment: sturdy shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, possibly hiking poles

Um 10 Uhr geht’s beim Infobüro Barbian los: Gemeinsam mit Bauer Luis taucht ihr in die Farben des Herbstes ein 🌰🧡 und erfahrt, wie die „Barbianer Keschtn“ traditionell in der Pfanne gebraten werden. Zum Abschluss wartet eine gemütliche Einkehr im Gostnerhof.

Leichte Wanderung, ca. 3,5 Std. Gehzeit
Rückkehr gegen 16.00 Uhr
