Verdings & Pardell (South Tyrol)

This attractive village with 500 inhabitatns, is located halfway up the gentle slope above Klausen. The centre consists of a small XI century church amd the cemetry chapel where visitors can admire the fresco "Lebensrad" (the wheel of life). The farmers till the soil and are very close to their land and their traditions. From Verdings and the small settlement of Pardell hikers can enjoy a fabulous view over the incredible Dolomites. The pleasant climate is ideal for various types of vegetation: in fact, grape vines still growe here and trails are bordered by chestnut trees, whose prized nuts can be sampled in the autumn with the traditional Törggelen in the typical grazing pastures.
