Branzoll Castle

From its construction in 1250 to its reconstruction in 1895: The ancient ruins do not only appear very imposing, but also have a lot of stories to tell!

This fortress was built around 1250. After the fire in the year 1671 the lock remained a ruin, until it was bought and rebuilt in the year 1895 by the well-known castle friend Dr. Otto Piper. The work was completed by Karl Traut, an Innsbruck businessman with a taste for art, who transformed the building into a cultural center frequented by artists, musicians, writers and intellectuals until 1929.

An inspection is not possible, since the lock is inhabited by a family from Klausen.

A landmark of Klausen!
