How holidays travel today

Right in the heart of South Tyrol, well connected and ideally located, the Klausen destination is the perfect starting point for discovering the region. Whether it is a day trip, a hike or a special culinary moment, everything is close at hand from here.
Thanks to convenient travel by train and bus, the holiday can begin in a relaxed and environmentally friendly way from the very start. Once here, the Suedtirol Guest Pass Klausen allows guests staying in our member establishments to use many forms of public transport throughout South Tyrol and explore the region flexibly, even without their own car.

Arrival by train
Positioned in the heart of Europe, South Tyrol has a good train network, with connecting trains from the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), Italian Trenitalia, as well as Deutsche Bahn (DB).
Once in South Tyrol, DB/ÖBB train travelers can use the ‘Anschlussticket Südtirol’, a ticket that allows travelling with public transportation to get from the train station to their accommodation and vice versa on their day of arrival/departure.

All IC and EC trains stop at Brixen station. Regional trains also stop at Klausen and Waidbruck-Lajen station.

"Südtirol Transfer" – comfortably to your holiday accommodation
If you arrive by train or bus in South Tyrol you can use the "Südtirol Transfer”, a region-wide connection shuttle for the last few kilometres to your accommodation.
You can get to your holiday accommodation from the train stations in Bozen/Bolzano, Brixen/Bressanone, as well as from the ‘Flixbus’ bus stops in Bozen, Klausen/Chiusa or Vahrn/Varna and after your holiday you will be brought back to the stop. The group transfer from the nearest train stations or ‘Flixbus’ bus stops to the South Tyrolean accommodations, as well as the individual transfers from all the transit hubs, can be booked online.

Luggage service and bike transport
You want to travel without a suitcase or transport your bike safely? Bring your luggage or bike to South Tyrol with Insam Express. Luggage and bikes will be picked up by a courier company at your home and transported to the accommodation of your choice.

    South Tyrol’s Bozen regional airport Sky Alps is located on the southern outskirts of the capital city. Direct flights to Bolzano are currently available from London, Berlin or Düsseldorf.
    Innsbruck, Verona, Bergamo, Milan, Venice, Treviso, Salzburg and Munich are South Tyrols nearest airports.
    Different shuttle services guarantee the connection from these airports to the respective train stations. From there you can travel to South Tyrol with the trains of Italian Trenitalia, Deutsche Bahn DB as well as Austrian Federal Rail-ways ÖBB.

    AIRPORTS AND JOURNEY TO SOUTH TYROL


    From this airports (Venice, Salzburg and Treviso excluded) different companies offer a shuttle service for the onward journey to South Tyrol. This airport shuttle to South Tyrol includes a large number of stops throughout South Tyrol.

    The Brennerautobahn motorway A22 connects South Tyrol to the other regions of Italy in the South and to the rest of Europe in the North. When coming from the north side, take the route Innsbruck-Brenner-Klausen– from the south side Verona-Trento-Bozen-Klausen (take the motorway exit at Klausen/Chiusa).
    The motorway in Italy is subject to tolls. At the entrance to the motorway you will get a ticket, at the exit you will be charged according to the distance driven.

    From 15th November to 15th April, cars and trucks throughout South Tyrol have to carry along winter equipment in case of snow-covered roads (winter tyres or snow chains).
    Drivers are required to have safety vests in their cars in Italy.

    Useful information for driving to South Tyrol

    Important information - Lueg Bridge (Austrian part)
    Starting January 1, 2025, the Lueg Bridge on the Brenner Motorway (A13) will undergo renovations. Traffic will be reduced to one lane per direction, with temporary two-lane access on peak days. The first construction phase will last approximately 2.5 to 3 years, with full completion planned by 2030. Alternative routes via the Reschen Pass or by train are available; rail services will remain unaffected. >Up-to-date information (ASFINAG)

    E-Mobility
    In Klausen, charging stations for electric cars are located at the Market Square, the Schindergries car park, and at the swimming pool.
