Art in the historic town

HEINZ LASTEI

To express his poetic sensibility, Perathoner employs a language that is both precise and pared down. His focus on the human figure goes beyond the physical form - his stylized figures result from a formal investigation that deliberately eliminates all that is superfluous. His artistic language is defined by simplicity and clarity.

Perathoner creates works of great formal elegance, often evoking associations with Egyptian and pre-Renaissance art. His sculptures are an ode to silence—they invite the viewer to pause and listen inwardly. The figures gaze “into the distance,” pointing the way toward the unknown and hinting at the extraordinary aspects of life. The artist gently leads viewers into reflection and into a stillness where the pulse of life becomes tangible.

Information about the artist
Heinz Lastei

South Tyrolean painter Heinz Lastei was born in Merano in 1950. He preferably works with oil on canvas and uses a fine, highly detailed painting technique. In his works, he often combines nature and architecture with surrealist elements, giving visible form to his thoughts, ideas and pictorial worlds. His themes and titles often have a visionary character and invite viewers to look closely, read and interpret. Heinz Lastei draws on motifs that concern him personally, at times allowing critical or ironic nuances to emerge.

COUNCIL OF BIRDS
Una Boccata d'Arte
20.06 - 14.09.2026
With Una Boccata d’Arte, contemporary art moves into the public space of Klausen. In 2026, the focus will be on the project “Vogelrat. Il consiglio degli uccelli” by artist Francesco Alberico. In a participatory process, personal stories, local legends and imaginary creatures are transformed into textile bird figures, which will be displayed along the Upper Town.
